The Township will hold its annual spring drop-off day on April 17. Items can be brought to the Township Public Works garage at 6547 Roger Stevens Drive from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please note that trash tags or monetary equivalent is required.
No hazardous waste, commercial waste or regular household garbage will be accepted.
If you have any questions about what is acceptable to drop off, please contact the Township office at 283-7478 or the public works department at 283-5086.
White Metals - fridge – NO FREON, stove, hot water tank, freezer – NO FREON, etc.
- $10.00 or 10 tags per itemScrap MetalsLarge Furniture - sofa, large cabinet etc.
- $10.00 or 10 tags per itemSmall Furniture - kitchen or lawn chairs, small table, box spring or mattress
- $5.00 or 5 tags per item TiresTires can be dropped off at Hank’s Tire, GIM or AutoTech in Smiths Falls free of charge during business hours only. If tires are left at the Township yard, there will be a $5.00 per tire handling charge.E-WasteItems taken without charge:- computers, CPUs and laptops
- computer peripherals (keyboards, drives, cables, modems & routers)
- televisions and computer monitors
- printers, copiers, typewriters (excluding manuals)
- fax machines, telephones, cell phones, pagers, cameras
- radios, equalizers, amplifiers, tuners, PDAs, audio and video players
- rechargeable batteriesOther E-waste items may be taken to Twenty-Twelve Electronics Recycling Inc. in Smiths Falls. (Note: there is a fee for other items e.g. microwaves $10 per unit)Paint in original can, Household Batteries, CFLs
May be returned to the Rona Cashway store in Smiths Falls *Any person who leaves items at the Municipal Yard other than on the Special Drop Off Day is subject to a $500.00 fine.* |
