Come one, come all to a community tree planting event! The second annual tree planting event will take place on Saturday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Montague Public School (1200 Rosedale Road South).
From 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. there will be a pancake breakfast served in the school gym by the Montague Firefighters Association. The cost is $5 for those 12 years of age and over and a contribution jar for those under 12.
After breakfast, the tree planting will begin with 1,000 pine, spruce and tamarack seedlings to be planted in and around the developing recreational fields south of the school.
All community members, regardless of age, are invited to come and participate in the project. And don't forget to bring a shovel, gloves and your enthusiasm!!
