HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DEPOT

The Township partners with other municipalities in Lanark County for a household hazardous waste depot.  Household hazardous waste includes: paint, batteries, oil, cleaners, aerosol cans, anti-freeze, etc.  The facility is located in Carleton Place and is permitted to be open 16 weeks in accordance with its environmental approval.  This year the depot will be open Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon, from May 18 to August 31.

Directions:  At the intersection of Hwy 15 and Hwy 7, turn right (going east on Hwy 7). Turn left at the first set of lights - McNeely Avenue (Tim Hortons is on the left). Turn Left onto Patterson Crescent and follow the signs from there.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF HERBICIDE USE  

Montague Township is partnering again with Lanark County to control wild parsnip along  its roadsides, in  areas only where the infestation is widespread.  The program will use Clearview Herbicide (PCP #29752) as per the successful pilot program of 2017. Herbicide treatment of wild parsnip is targeted to occur in June, 2019, weather permitting. All requests for no spraying should be submitted to the Township of Montague on or before May 31, 2019.
